What are the Causes of Dizziness?
A variety of factors can cause dizziness, anything from the environment to a medical condition. Some common causes of dizziness include:

Dizziness can fall into two different categories: lightheadedness and vertigo. Lightheadedness is typically what you feel before you faint and is generally caused by a sudden drop in blood pressure or a decrease in blood flow to your brain. Vertigo is the sensation that the room is spinning, even if you aren’t moving, and can be accompanied by nausea and vomiting.
When to Seek Help at an Urgent Care
If your dizziness doesn’t resolve after a few hours after drinking water or eating food, or if you have been having recurring spells of dizziness, you should seek help at your nearest urgent care center. It is essential to visit a medical professional if you experience sudden dizziness or difficulty walking after.
When you come in for a visit we will first do a physical examination, after which we may order blood work or scans to help us determine what is causing your dizziness.

When to Visit the ER
If you experience any of the following symptoms accompany your dizziness, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room because you may be experiencing a more serious problem:
If the dizziness lasts more than a few hours and you are over the age of 60, visit the nearest emergency room right away.
What To Bring When You Visit
To make the most of your visit at Bayside Urgent Care Center, bring a list of any medications you take as well as past illnesses and surgeries. If you have a primary care doctor, bring their address and phone number in case we need to transfer records.
What If I Need Medication?
If your dizziness is treatable with medication, Bayside Urgent Care Center dispenses some medication onsite so you won’t have to make a second stop at a pharmacy.
