Blood Work

Urgent Care for Affordable and Easy Blood Work

There are times when blood work needs to be done right away. Unfortunately, you have to wait months to get into your primary care physician. At Bayside Urgent Care Center our testing is affordable and accessible.

We are located in Clearwater, Florida, and we’re always accepting new patients. No appointments are necessary.

Why Might You Need Blood Work?

This test is one of the most effective ways to find out what is happening inside of your body. Using the results, our staff can see if your organs are functioning properly. Also, they can tell if your cholesterol levels are okay.

While most people get blood work done as part of their annual physical, you may also need blood work:

  • If you are experiencing any abnormal symptoms — like nausea or pain — that do not subside.
  • In reducing the risk of certain diseases and identifying the problem in its earliest and most treatable stage.
  • When checking for specific diseases or conditions.
  • To check the treatment regimen for a pre-existing condition.

What Are Some of the Conditions I Can Test for?

Bayside Urgent Care Center can test for a wide variety of issues, such as:

  • Basic Metabolic Panel
  • Liver Function Test
  • Cardiac Panel
  • Lipid Panel
  • Blood Sugar Level
  • COVID-19 Antibodies
  • Thyroid Hormone Levels
  • Red or White Blood Cell Count
  • Liver Enzymes
  • Lipid Levels
  • Glucose Levels
  • Vitamin Saturation
  • H. Pylori
  • STD Tests
  • Pregnancy Tests
  • Urinalysis
  • Drug Tests

What Should I Do to Prepare?

When you schedule blood work to be done, the doctor will give you instructions. Specifically, you will learn what you need to do, or refrain from doing, before your appointment. Some tests require you to not drink or eat beforehand (typically 8-12 hours). Additionally, you should eat less fatty or fried food, and avoid alcohol for 1-2 days before your appointment.

At Bayside Urgent Care Center, we can usually draw blood the same day we see you. This is true even if you don’t have an appointment. But, if you don’t meet the requirements on that day, we can reschedule your testing for a different day.

How is Blood Work Done?

In some cases, a blood draw can be a simple finger prick for a drip of blood. However, we often draw blood by inserting a needle into your arm. We can then fill the necessary vials for different tests.

Does Bayside Urgent Care Center Accept Insurance?

Yes. We accept Medicare and most major insurance carriers. If you are underinsured, uninsured, or prefer to pay out-of-pocket, we accept payment at the time of service. We also offer flexible and affordable payment plans.
