Urgent Care for Stomach Pain

Most people have experienced stomach pain (or abdominal pain) at one time or another. This can range from mild aching to acute pain and occurs between your pelvis and your chest. Typically, most stomach pain is mild and can be caused by indigestion, food allergies, or muscle strains.

Severe or acute stomach pain may indicate a more serious condition, like appendicitis and gall bladder stones. Often, these require emergency care.

If you are experiencing mild stomach discomfort, come to Bayside Urgent Care Center. We can help you determine the cause of the pain and recommend treatment. We are located in Clearwater, Florida, and we’re always accepting new patients. No appointments are necessary.

What Are Common Causes of Stomach Pain?

There are several causes of pain in the abdominal area. Some of the more common reasons are:

  • Indigestion

When Should I Seek Emergency Care for Stomach Pain?

If your stomach pain is severe enough that you can’t stand or you begin vomiting blood, you should go to the emergency room. The following are some other indicators of when stomach pain may be more serious:

  • Stabbing pain

  • Inability to have a bowel movement accompanied by vomiting
  • The pain lasts for several days

How Do You Treat Stomach Pain?

Treating stomach pain first depends on identifying the cause. Our medical team will perform a thorough physical and ask questions to find the underlying issues.

Typically, treatments range from medication for reducing inflammation and antibiotics to clear up bacterial infections to advice about lifestyle changes to avoid certain foods. Other remedies like tea and clear liquids can help relieve discomfort.
