School Physicals
Urgent Care for School Physicals
Even if they aren’t athletes, many schools require students to get school physicals as part of their enrollment. These exams are slightly different from sports physicals and evaluate your child’s overall health and any issues they may be dealing with. For instance, a physical can uncover any developmental problems that are important for a growing child.
Bayside Urgent Care Center is here to help you get quick and cost-effective school physicals, so you have one less thing to worry about.
We are located in Clearwater, Florida, and we’re always accepting new patients. No appointments are necessary.
What’s Included in School Physicals?
Back to school physicals will vary depending upon your child’s age, but usually include:
- Physical examination
- Height and weight check
- Joints, muscle, and spine evaluation
- Vital sign check (blood pressure, pulse, and respiration)
- Vision screening
At Bayside Urgent Care Center, you can count on a knowledgeable and compassionate team to help get your child’s or teen’s school year off to a healthy start.
When Should You Schedule a School Physical?
While you can come at any time for school physicals, we recommend scheduling it 4-6 weeks before school begins. By giving yourself this timeframe, you will have enough time for any follow-up visit that may be needed or to resolve any issues that may come up.
What Should I Bring?
To make the most of your visit, please bring any forms the school requires to be filled out by the doctor, including immunization records, vaccine cards, and waivers.
Also, bring a list of past injuries, surgeries, or serious illnesses, including a list of prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Does Bayside Urgent Care Accept Insurance?
Yes, we accept several major insurance carriers. However, insurance cannot be used for physicals at an urgent care center. For that reason, our school physicals are reasonably priced at $20.
