Are You Ready To Lose Weight?

At Bayside Urgent Care Center, we care about your total body health. That’s why we’re introducing a new supervised medical weight loss program called Bayside Wellness. We start with a comprehensive exam to ensure your safety during the program and to ensure there are no gaps in your total body health.

Initial evaluation includes:
  • thorough medical history review
  • physical examination
  • EKG
  • stress test
  • comprehensive labs

How Is Bayside Wellness Different?

There are plenty of clinics that offer weight loss solutions.
Our program is different for several reasons.

Other programs may concentrate on weight loss but may overlook other health conditions like heart disease or signs of cancer. We are trained to ensure that your body as a whole is functioning properly.
Other clinics may do nonspecific comprehensive blood testing that is not useful. They may also use diagnostics that are not evidence-based. All of that leads to extra costs for you without a beneficial outcome. At Bayside, we evaluate the individual to determine what testing may be helpful in evaluating your total body health.
We focus on diet, exercise, and sleep. Our program has an easy-to-follow daily guidebook that you can use to track your progress. Weekly consultations or check-ins help you to make healthy changes or adjustments to your program for results that last.
We believe that anyone can lose weight with the proper nutrition, exercise, and a good night’s rest. However, we know that losing weight is difficult. Until recently, we did not have a truly effective weight loss medication. A GLP-1 agonist, combined with proper diet and exercise, can help to increase your weight loss.

We can start with the initial Health Screening Consultation, or if you have questions and would like to discuss the program further, we can do that too.

With diet alone, you can lose a pound per week, which over 12 weeks would be 12 pounds. If you choose to add on GLP-1 agonist medication, weight loss can be increased. In a 5 year study of GLP-1 agonist use for weight loss, when combined with a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity, the average participant lost anywhere from 5% – 20% of body weight (83% – 30% of people, respectively).
A glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist is a man-made version of a naturally occurring hormone called an incretin. Incretins are hormones released from the pancreas cells in response to nutrient ingestion. They slow digestion, make us feel fuller faster, tell the brain we are no longer hungry, and regulate insulin and glucagon hormones which are responsible for the use, storage, and production of sugar in our bodies.
You will be screened for potential complications with the medication at the initial visit. If you qualify for medication use, a provider will go over the side effects in detail with you. The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and constipation.
Patients with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer (less than 4% of thyroid cancers) and/or multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2 A/B (MEN2A/B)
Yes. The foundation of this program is focused on awareness of calorie intake as well as calorie burning. Sleep is also very important in weight loss. We have many ways to help address mobility to get you moving again. Starting on a gradient is key when it comes to weight loss. As your weight decreases and your body becomes healthier, your ability to move the body comfortably will increase.d
